Lettings tips for Students
As a student in Cambridge, letting a property can be both exciting and frustrating, get yourself prepared and you will reduce the risk of your perfect property being snapped up by another group.

- Check you can afford the rent – this may sound obvious but you do need to ensure the numbers stack up
- Check your credit scores, do you know the credit scores of all who will be living in the property? Being upfront at the start will save any surprises later
- Check you can afford the deposit and can provide proof of funds
- Make sure you all have your guarantors in place – Your guarantors must be UK based
- Make sure everyone is available to view the property together – separate viewings can slow the process down and you risk loosing the property to another group, we cannot proceed with your application until everyone has viewed the property.
Above all make sure everyone in your group is happy with the property you are choosing. Individual tennants wanting to leave into the tenancy will cause you problems later on.
