If you just want somewhere nearby for a stroll or run, you are spoilt for choice as Chesterton is also close to some of Cambridge’s best green spaces, including Jesus Green, Midsummer Common and Ditton Meadow. For the children, Chesterton Recreation Ground is spacious and well appointed, or Bramblefields Nature Reserve is great place to introduce them to the delights of songbirds, wildflowers and frogs. Chesterton sports centre offers a range of activities, including swimming and classes in everything from Aerobics to Zumba, Indian Cookery to Italian Conversation.

Local Shops and Facilities with a community feel

In Chesterton you are likely to be living alongside families and long term Cambridge residents and individual roads have a community feel of their own. Chesterton High Street very conveniently still has its own Post Office, local family butchers and a couple of handy smaller food stores, while for your bigger weekly shop there is a large Tesco just over the river easily accessed by cycle and footbridge. Living in Chesterton you will have no excuse not to keep your hair or beard well trimmed and your bicycle in good repair, as there are no less than two barbers and three bike shops. In search of a good cup of coffee or lunchtime snack, you could soon be popping regularly into Stir, your local community cafe and bakers. Tucking into one of their famous brioche stacks or sipping on a seasonal smoothie, you can browse the range of activities this venue offers, such as Pilates and baby massage. Or you might be intrigued by the offer of Indie street food and drink at 'Thirsty Cambridge'.

Brilliant Travel Connections

Chesterton is ideal for travelling out of Cambridge, or for guests to visit, as it has easy access to the A14 and M11. It is also very proud to be the site of the new, long awaited Cambridge North railway station, with fast links to London and Kings Lynn via Ely. Although there are 450 spaces for cars and 1000 for cycles, living in Chesterton you will be within easy walking distance of this fantastic new facility. Chesterton is also the ideal place to live if you work at the Cambridge Science Park, which is to the North of Chesterton, within easy cycling distance.
